Dark chocolate, red and green M&M’s and a touch of cinnamon make these classic tasty treats extra special. Ground flax is optional, but adds some nuttiness and extra goodness.

2 ½ cup old fashioned oats
½ cup honey
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ cup red and green M&M’s (tip: swap out the red and green for any other color variation to make these bites a year-round treat!)
In a large mixing bowl (here’s the one I’m using), add each of the ingredients. Stir together until everything is combined and the mixture forms a loose ball (you can do a quick final mix with your hands before shaping the balls, but do try and minimize the amount you handle the mixture, as the color may start to come off of the candies).
Next, dampen your hands slightly with water (to prevent sticking) and begin forming into golf sized balls. Place the balls onto a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper, or directly into a storage container, separating the layers with parchment paper. Cover and chill for one hour until balls are firm. Store refrigerated for up to one week (but they probably won’t last that long ?).
Makes approximately 30 energy bites.
